A random tale

Sometimes on here I like to post little stories from throughout our relationship. Yes this blog is about getting happy with me but a huge part of my happiness is him and there are things I would like to remember to tell my children.

A few years ago I was working away for the week in Adelaide and the other half rang. We were chatting and he told me that as he was going to be away when I got back he had picked me up a little present which he had left on my pillow. How cute. Me being me I couldn’t stop thinking about it and asked for a clue…’it is something which you had mentioned you wanted and I went out and got it for you’.

hmmmmmm after a few hours of thinking I had cracked it… I had said I wanted a pen pot for my desk at the office and was delighted that he had got me one. So I called all triumphant and announced I knew exactly what it was so we should go on skype so he could show me the one he got.

So we did and he showed me…..

Well that’s not a pencil pot… I thought it was a pencil pot???’  I was confused. We established that no I didn’t want him to return them and get me a pencil pot I actually loved them heaps more I was just really surprised to get them I was amazed at the loveliness.

And no I still have no pencil pot! I don’t really care

Whats your best surprise? Have you bought a surprise gift?

Step mum to a dog

Yep, my partner came with baggage. He was part of a pair. A pair who had been together for at least 5 years and prior to my entrance did everything ( including sleeping) together.

His name is cowboy. When my other half got him he fitted in his hand and is a brindle english staffy so looked like a cow and was called cow. Thats not nearly a manly enough name for the runt of the litter so he became cowboy and he looks a little like this

( not my actual dog just the same look)

I have never had a pet so I had to learn to look after cowboy when I was the only one at home. So many random phone calls were made…

‘Can he eat hot food?’

‘Do I have to cut up his food? Can he chew?’

‘How often do you walk him?’

‘How do I shampoo him?’

Now we are great buddies and to be honest I feel safer with him around. Yep I have to walk him when I don’t feel like it, yeah on occasion I have to watch TV in the bedroom because he farts me out of my own lounge and yes he snores like a freight train… But I love having a dog and would definitely choose to have one again.

Do you have a pet? Would you love one?
